Home Decor Projects

A few weeks ago, I accidentally put together this super simple home decor piece. I got the paper mache birds in the dollar bin at Micheal's. Just by chance, that same evening I was cutting flowers on my cricut out of old dictionary paper. I decided to add the scraps to a glass jar and this the was the result...

 

Super cute! But I wanted to add a little pizazz to the piece. I made my first purchase of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist with the intent to mist some more vintage dictionary paper and glue it to Styrofoam balls. 

When I added them to the jar I was disappointed. Not only were the colors not right, but I found that Glimmer Mist didn't take very well to the dictionary paper. 

It was back to the drawing board. This other home decor piece was what resulted from my second attempt at displaying the glimmered-Styrofoam balls.

I am not sure how I really feel about it just yet. But I am happy that my first Glimmer Mist project didn't end up in the trash...

Where have I been!?!?!

It seems that I started this blog then totally fell off the face of the earth!
Well I didn't. But, in a way, I replaced by a new technological being... My new WHITE iphone 4! <3 This thing does everything! It could seriously live my life for me.

This first day I got it I was glued to it. I didn't stop fumbling with the thing to look up and notice what the world looked like after 2pm. I even took a trip to Micheal's with a friend and didn't look away from the iphone to shop!

I have missed creating and decided to prep some projects late last night that I want to get to work on this week. Of course, I have the longest work day ever today, a previously scheduled boyfriend day tomorrow, and Sundays are always big work days for me... So Monday!

Monday, I dedicate to recommitting myself to my canvas projects, my mimi-album, and I have a real hankering to create a 12x12 LO.

The BeLIEve Mini-Album

Hey guys!

The project I wanna share today is my very first mini-album. It centers around a fabulous trip I took to Las Vegas last summer for a meet and greet with Criss Angel. He is one of my many, many man-loves.  <3

My sister and a very good friend of mine traveled to Vegas to see his live show, BeLIEve and attened a meet and greet after the show at Liquidity Night Club.

When I got home I grabbed my Graphic 45 A Proper Gentleman, Communique, and Le' Romantique paper collections and my distress supplies and hit the pavement. (There are a lot of "ands" in that sentence ... )

It is now nearly complete! The only thing left undone is a die cut reading "This Moment Brought To You By"- for Criss to sign this summer at the same event.

Me and Criss Angel 8-4-10

Wow... that was harder then I thought.

Hello new friends! 

I am both excited and now exhausted to start this new endeavor of blogging and sharing my life and artwork online. I have been inspired lately to do this by some wonderful blogs and youtube channels where amazing works of art are shared.

For better, or worse, I decided I wanted to join in on the fun. 

Here is hoping that it gets easier from here on... I had the worst time figuring out how to make my blog look presentable... and I'm STILL not completely thrilled with it. On top of that I just started a youtube channel I have ZERO idea how to operate, let alone connect to this blog. I am now going to attempt to create my first video for said youtube channel before I rest tonight.

To end on a more positive note, I found this amazing work of art on the Prima website tonight. (I was hoping to use this image as a more permanent fixture on this blog but that has proven to be impossible for now.) So, I will share it with you here. I cant wait to try this project for myself- It is so fitting for me!
